1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use World Shops UK at worldshops.co.uk. World Shops UK is run by ASTARS SECURITY SERVICES LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 16350802. Registered office: Flat 5, 53 Raven Close, Gloucester, GL4 4BD, United Kingdom. Contact: info@worldshops.co.uk. Please read them alongside our privacy policy and how we check listings.

2. What this site is

World Shops UK is a free directory to help people find community shops in the UK. We don't sell anything and we aren't part of any purchase you make from a listed shop. Any purchase is between you and the shop, and your consumer rights are against the shop.

3. Accuracy of listings

We check every listing against the shop's own details on the date shown on the listing. But shops can change their opening hours, stock, prices or address without telling us, so listings are general information only. Please confirm with the shop before you travel or buy. A brand on a listing means the shop says it stocks that brand. We can't confirm stock, prices, quality, or that goods are genuine or authorised by the brand.

4. Brands and trade marks

Brand names and logos belong to their owners. Mentioning a brand doesn't mean the brand endorses us or the shop, or that we're connected with it. Shop logos and photos are shown with the shop's permission and remain the shop's property.

5. Order and payments

Listings are free. No shop pays to appear or for its position. Lists are in alphabetical order, and the home page shows shops with the most details first. If we ever offer paid or featured placements, they'll be clearly labelled as paid, and we'll update these terms first. We don't publish reviews or ratings.

6. Adding or changing a listing

If you send us a listing, you confirm that you own or manage the shop, or have its permission, that the details are correct, and that you have the right to share any logo or photo you send. We may edit listings for clarity and accuracy. We may decline or remove a listing, for example if we can't verify it, the shop has closed, or we have good reason to think it sells counterfeit or illegal goods. Shops can ask us to correct or remove their listing at any time, free of charge.

7. Using the site fairly

You're welcome to use the site for finding shops and to share links to it. Please don't copy or scrape the directory in bulk, send false or misleading listings, or try to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the site. The site's design and text belong to ASTARS SECURITY SERVICES LTD.

8. Links to other websites

Listings link to shops' own websites, social pages and Google Maps. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content.

9. Our responsibility to you

If you use the site as a consumer, we're responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We aren't responsible for loss that isn't foreseeable, for business losses, or for the goods, services or actions of any listed shop. We try to keep the site running but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.

If you use the site for business purposes, we aren't liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill, or for any indirect loss, and our total liability to you in connection with the site is limited to £100.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded by law. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed.

11. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
